What You Will Be Doing:
Business Operations Focus:
- Leads the IT Operations Team to provide the best possible customer support/service to the entire Organization ensuring internal IT business needs are being met, and does so by showing a high level of professionalism.
- Acts as a 'trusted advisor' in the technology realm, building and maintaining relationships with other business leaders, to develop a clear understanding of business needs to ensure technology operations solutions support current and evolving business needs.
- Develops and implements the infrastructure technology vision, strategy, and roadmap to drive 'Company' strategic initiatives in alignment with business objectives.
- Creates training and development plans for team members with their assistance with a focus on certifications and keeping skillsets current.
- Identifies and implements policies, practices and procedures and communicates these best practices to the operations group.
- Ensures operational compliance with best practices and quality assurance standards. Develops and monitors checklists for team members.
- Directly leads large initiatives via formal project management and in so doing establishes project plans, project tasks, budgeting requirements and keeps abreast of the status of respective projects ensuring timelines are being met.
- Monitors work orders for all team members and keeps work on schedule, assuring customer needs are met. Manages the Facility and Safety manager's job duties to ensure that the needs of the organization are being met.
Linux/Windows Systems Administration:
- Provides leadership in or effectively delegates tasks in the administration and implementation of Linux systems including Database Servers, Application Servers and Web Servers.
- Provides leadership in or effectively delegates tasks in the administration and implementation of Windows Servers including Domain Controllers/Active Directory, Application Servers, Print, Web Services, and Data Storage..
Security and Data Administration:
- Provides leadership in or effectively delegates tasks in the administration and implementation of Internet security systems including Firewalls, Anti-Virus, Intrusion Prevention, and Spam Filtering. Takes proactive approach to monitoring/mitigating security risks.
- Stays current on industry security trends and discusses them with the team and Directory of IT Security/CIO on a regular basis.
- Preserves the safety and integrity of all information systems and data and minimizes downtime for critical systems by developing and administering reliable systems and procedures for archive, backup and disaster recovery.
- Monitors disaster recovery system for proper redundancy, maintenance, and testing. Testing should be done at three month intervals in coordination with the SFM Internal Auditor.
- Preserves the security of information and communication systems and data by administering systems and data security procedures. Leads annual internal and external network audits along with the mitigation of risks found.
- Actively participates in the monthly IT security committee meetings by bringing new issues and ideas to improve the overall technology/data security for SFM. Acts as a member of the IT security committee and corporate Incident Response Team.
- Operates key systems in a redundant 24x7 environment.
- Manages the IT processes for employee new hires, promotions, and separations across all of SFM. Partners with and uses Human Resources as a resource for talent acquisition, training, and performance management.
- Actively participates in the annual IT budget process.
Network Administration and Desktop Administration:
- Provides leadership in or effectively delegates tasks in the administration and implementation of core networking systems including VOIP, Internet connectivity, and internal network/backbone.
- Provides leadership in or effectively delegates tasks in the administration and implementation of phone and fax systems including VOIP and RightFax.
- Maintains availability and extends longevity of information and communication systems by administering equipment maintenance activities and contracts.
- Provides leadership in or effectively delegates tasks in the administration and implementation of PCs, laptops, printers, and home offices.
- Monitors processes used to install new equipment, install software, and manage software and security updates. Provides leadership in finding new solutions if service levels are not met and/or software updates are not delivered efficiently and reliably.
Leadership and Staff Development
- Develops and communicates vision and expectation levels to team members and relates them to corporate vision and strategic direction. Maintains appropriate interactions with persons both within the organization and externally.
- Provides team members with the tools needed for the team to accomplish stated objectives.
- Consistently provides feedback and communication to staff members related to company and team performance.
- Leads team members to make decisions based on established criteria/goals and monitors performance to achieve successful results.
- Defines and develops team member's job, responsibilities and accountabilities, in both a physical and virtual environment.
- Selects, coaches and retains staff. Inspires team members to attain goals and pursue service excellence. Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for improved performance. Effectively utilizes each team member to his/her fullest potential.
- Partners with and uses Human Resources as a resource for talent acquisition, training, and performance management.
- Provides training and development opportunities. Identifies and develops future leadership within the team. Challenges team members to develop professionally or as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor.
What We'll Love About You
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or technical discipline; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Four plus years of system administration (Linux or Windows) along with systems architecture.
- Four plus years' experience with information security policies and audits.
- Experience leading, supervising and managing people.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Working knowledge of storage technologies and networking.
- Strong, effective leadership and supervisory skills along with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to Coach, guide and encourage staff toward improved performance.
- Broad understanding of and ability to develop an effective team environment focused on team results.
- Strong technical knowledge of computer operations including networking and security.
- Inspires continuous quality and process improvements while driving exceptional customer service. Proven ability to serve as a positive role model to operations group members.

- Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and work with minimal direction using effective delegation where appropriate.
Physical Requirements
Regular attendance is required. Work takes place in a semi paperless environment within an office setting, either on business premises or other remote location, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers, which requires being stationary for extended periods of time. Will come into the office when asked to do so. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, and maintain concentration and focus. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and work with close vision. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Work is performed indoors with little to no exposure to extreme outdoor weather conditions.
