Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to function as the Front Desk Manager at University Place Hotel ( UPL). The Front Desk Manager will provide assistance to the General Manager in relation to front desk operations, scheduling, and staffing.

This position is the key contact for guest related issues, reservations, front desk operations, training, liaison with other departments and the “face” of the hotel. Assignments include attending or conducting meetings, performing research and investigative programmatic issues related to UPL staffing models and hospitality programs.




Minimum Qualifications
  • Two to four years supervisory, management or lead experience.
  • At least one year of hotel experience
  • Hotel, hospitality, travel industry or other customer service position
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE ; The front desk is the main contact point for all who enter the hotel. This position provides excellent helpful service to all hotel guests. You must have the ability to resolve conflict and to address customer’s needs in a professional and timely manner in a busy, sometimes stressful circumstances. Must be confident in making direct eye contact, open and friendly so that the guest feels welcome.
  • COMMUNICATION; Ability to clearly communicate effectively with a diverse customer base in person, in writing, by telephone or by email to include; greeting customers, guests and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner, collecting payments, helping guests needing assistance, answering customer or public inquiries; Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and work instructions. Ability to write clear, complete and accurate routine reports and correspondence to provide information to supervisors and co-workers.
  • Cash handling experience with verifiable accuracy.
  • Familiarity with computers.
  • Ability to work a flexible, variable schedule, Sunday to Saturday, 40 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Front desk hotel experience as a manager.
  • Travel or Hospitality experience at a management or supervisory level.

Work Days/HoursSunday to Saturday, 40 hours per week, flexible schedule/shifts which will vary based on hotel occupancy with occasional graveyard shifts.Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.

The starting annual salary for this position will be between $50,148 and $59,556, but may be negotiated above this range dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
