The Prototyping Engineering Intern will support our rapid prototyping business unit, providing assistance in the development and refinement of prototypes for various projects. This position is ideal for a college student studying engineering or a related field, who is eager to gain hands-on experience in applied engineering and technical problem-solving within a dynamic industrial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Design and Modeling: Support the design team by helping create and modify CAD models under the guidance of senior engineers. Learn to apply theoretical knowledge to practical design challenges.
  • Prototype Assembly and Testing: Assist in the assembly of prototype components and participate in testing procedures to ensure designs meet required specifications.
  • Material and Tool Handling: Learn about different materials and tools used in prototyping. Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory.
  • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Engage in brainstorming sessions and problem-solving meetings, offering fresh perspectives and innovative ideas.
  • Documentation Support: Help document design processes, assembly procedures, and test results, ensuring detailed records for future reference.
  • Learn and Apply New Techniques: Actively participate in training sessions and workshops to learn new software, tools, and methods used in modern prototyping and engineering.
  • Project Support: Provide logistical support to project teams by scheduling meetings, preparing presentation materials, and other administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD software and design principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to project success.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university program.
  • Previous internship or project experience in engineering or design is preferred but not required.
