Description:

The Rental Driver position drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Drives truck to destination.
  • Must be able to haul Class I through Class IV materials.
  • Must be able to operate all CAT equipment.
  • Prepares receipts for load picked up.
  • Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations
  • Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
  • Loads and unloads truck.
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
  • Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
  • Must maintain confidentiality regarding customers and store operations.
  • Will work with customers and vendors frequently, must be able to follow directions.
Requirements:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have CDL driver's license and clear driving record. DOT license required.
  • Must be able to pass work related pre-employment physical
  • Work effectively with tools and equipment.
  • Must be flexible in work schedule.
