Senior Study Coordinator US-NY-Einstein/Resnick - Bronx Job ID: 2024-16448 Type: Research # of Openings: 1 Category: Exempt Albert Einstein College of Medicine Responsibilities POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES · Implement study protocols for acquisition of hospital and death records for participants of a large cohort study including: · Obtain data from participants and next of kin · Develop processes for facilitating the receipt of relevant study materials and collection of study Data from participants and informants · Develop and implement methods to track and follow-up with study participants · Investigate validity and completeness of reported hospitalizations and deaths · Develop systems for death investigations including development of scripts to obtain information for participants reported deceased by informants, · Ensure the conduct of relevant study questionnaires for reported hospitalizations and deaths, · Establish communications with relevant hospitals and agencies, i.e. DOH, NDI, to confirm reported deaths and obtain copies of death certificates, where applicable. · Maintain communications with data coordinating center for submission of required documentation to confirm participant hospitalizations and deaths · Integrate local systems for death investigations with local hospitals and agencies to obtain more quantitative data sets · Work with electronic health information systems such as Bronx RHIO and Healthix to conduct searches for reported hospitalizations and deaths. · Collaborate with the central coordinating center to develop systems to align local systems for death investigations with study wide searches using the Nation death index · Attend and represent local field center on local and on national committees to report on local procedures for death investigations and progress · Create and manage spreadsheets to track local efforts to obtain information for participants who are lost-to-follow up and/or reported deceased · Develop systems for confirming hospitalizations and deaths reported outside of the country during annual follow up contacts · Provide incentive to participants for self-reported hospitalizations outside of the annual follow-up period and to informants for providing further information for reported deaths that result in the acquisition of a death certificate.
Additional responsibilities · Provide Technical Back up as needed · Transmission of Data to reading center, uploading, and downloading equipment and documents. · Troubleshoot software issues to facilitate transmission of study data. · Train new team members in the area of concentration · Enters and maintains data in several databases, prepares routine and ad hoc reports for local and study wide meetings · Perform quality control procedures to ensure accurate and completeness of study data reported for hospitalizations and deaths · Reviews data in various systems for quality assurance before reports are distributed to senior staff for review, prior to submission to Center. · Assist MPI’s with IRB approval issues, consenting, and preparation of data files reporting/progress report. · Assist with communications to the HCHS-SOL Steering Committee and other activities Assist in supervision of Admin Assistant · Performother duties as assigned.
