The Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator is responsible for the preauthorization, fitting, and billing of DME ordered by our providers, as well as, present new products to physicians that may benefit their patients. This specific role will focus on managing the bone growth stimulator device to help patients heal faster after a fusion surgery.

We are looking for someone will:

  • Oversee all aspects related to the bone growth stimulator including insurance verification, precertification, custom fitting, and patient education
  • Be responsible for initiating and following up on insurance approval, billing, and payment; managing device inventory; and communicating with device manufacturer regarding any problems with the device
  • Coordinate educational events for physicians and staff regarding the bone growth stimulator and other relevant devices
  • Have excellent organization skills with attention to details
  • Communicate clearly and tactfully interact with all levels of the organization and patients
  • Provide excellent customer service with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Be able to travel locally/regionally (approximately 10%) via own transportation

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with additional education or training within healthcare to fit patients for DME
  • Three (3) years' experience in the healthcare industry that includes face-to-face patient care and insurance verification/precertification
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) preferred
