No POSITION SUMMARY The OR/PACU Team Leader is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician/Anesthesiologist and Staff. The Team Leader utilizes the care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of interventions within individual scope of practice. The Team Leader is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan. The Team leader assists with assignments based on acuity and staffing. The patient care process includes:
Licensed and registered care providers responsible for utilizing the care process relative to their scope of practice and knowledge base, may document the assessment, plan, intervention and evaluation. All patient care activities are administered according to standards, procedural guidelines and organizational policy. OR/PACU Team Leader Page 2 The Team Leader actively supports performance improvement initiatives and provides leadership to other members of the patient care team. By participating in educational activities, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for continued professional and personal growth. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey and current BLSHCP/ within one year from date of hire or transfer for specialty leaders. ACLS/CNOR preferred. EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years OR/PACU experience required. 2 years previous specialty experience and/or demonstrated competency within specialty required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire. WORK ENVRIONMENT Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
