Department Overview

We believe our well coordinated clinical care contributes to our outcomes that are among the best in the country. Work as part of team that includes Cancer and Blood Disorder physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nursing, social work, physical therapy, nutrition, child life, clinic assistants and researchers.

The department at Children's of Minnesota provides care for children of all ages with all types of malignancies including brain tumors, solid tumors, and leukemia; and blood disorders such as sickle cell disease, bleeding disorders, and anemia. As the largest provider of services for children with cancer and bleeding disorders in the region, the Cancer and Blood Disorders program focuses on providing well-coordinated knowledge-driven clinical care. We participate in national and international research and are leaders in research on supportive care and quality of life for children with cancer and bleeding disorders.

Position Summary

Operational leader who is accountable for day to day management of ambulatory clinic operations. Works in a paired leadership role with a Medical Director dyad to execute on key strategies to improve clinical quality, experience and financial performance. Supports 2 or more clinic locations and/or specialty programs.

Required Education:
* BA/BS Degree in healthcare, business, or related field
Preferred Education:
* MHA, MBA, MS

Required Experience:
* 3+ years of management or leadership experience in the healthcare industry
Preferred Experience:
* Previous experience in managing a minimum of 10 staff people
* Experience working in ambulatory clinics
* Experience in pediatrics and designated specialty (if applicable)

* Strong organizational, analytical, communication & interpersonal skills
* Proven critical thinking and problem solving abilities, including resolving complex problems requiring innovative solutions
* Experience managing a P&L and budgeting

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Experience designing and implementing care delivery and service excellence strategies, using Lean management theory preferred
* A passion for learning
* Ability to present oneself and one's ideas with clarity, confidence and poise
* Strong computer skills

The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children's Minnesota.
