Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 4 years
Customer or member services experience required
Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems
Simple programming and web development experience a plus
Familiarity with biological concepts and ability to engage in technical communication

About the Job

Position Overview:
BioMADE's membership is poised to be greater than 100 institutions, and involve hundreds of individuals. The Membership Manager will organize and record membership activities, developments, and relations for these companies and personnel. They will maintain membership records and rosters as part of the BioMADE membership database. Working with BioMADE's leadership, they will develop, update, and distribute information about membership to prospective and current members and serve as a resource to the membership to enable connectivity across the bioindustrial manufacturing ecosystem.

Job Duties:
60% Manage BioMADE Membership Partnerships
Serve as liaison to BioMADE members and representatives
Create and implement member engagement strategies
Provide onboarding support to new BioMADE members
Periodically assess BioMADE membership model and recommend improvements.
Respond promptly and professionally to current and prospective member inquiries
Organize engagement activities at broad member meetings

20% Maintain BioMADE Membership Database
Maintain membership database of all past, current, and prospective BioMADE members
Train and support BioMADE staff in use of membership databases and other systems relevant for member tracking
Ensure accurate data and create reports related to membership activities for U.S. Government sponsors as appropriate

10% Membership Communications and Outreach
Update and distribute information about membership to best engage current members
Assist business development team with outreach to recruit new members
Maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) records related to membership, including website updates for membership information and communications.
Setup and operate BioMADE informational booth at local and national meetings and conferences

10% Supervisor BioMADE Committee Coordinator

About the Department

The University of Minnesota is seeking highly-motivated candidates to work for its College of Biological Science (CBS). The successful candidate will be part of a group of CBS employees assigned to perform duties for BioIndustrial Manufacturing and Design Ecosystem (BioMADE) at BioMADE's facility on the University's Saint Paul campus. BioMADE is a Department of Defense (DoD) sponsored Manufacturing Innovations Institute (MII). BioMADE has contracted with the University to provide University personnel to staff its St. Paul facility.

BioMADE joins eight DoD-sponsored MIIs as part of the Manufacturing USA network. BioMADE will support the growth and sustainment of domestic bioindustrial manufacturing, perform research and development (R&D) activities, facilitate the distribution of R&D funding to member institutions, and support national defense needs. BioMADE will be the nation's leading collaborative research institute dedicated to advancing bioindustrial manufacturing technologies.
