Description:

The Production Welder will always follow safe work practices and be responsible for helping everyone learn and maintain the PMG Standard. The primary responsibility of the Production Welder is to weld metal components as specified by references, diagrams, or written/oral instructions, grind, gouge, or groove metal. Perform other related tasks to include burning and plasma cutting. We are looking for someone with the ability to operate and /or use related equipment and tools which include stick, wire feed, TIG, forklifts, hoists, slings, grinders (portable & bench), cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, a tape measure, etc.

Requirements:
  • 5+ year experience as a welder.
  • Attention to detail/excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in welding procedures, various types of welding equipment, proficient in flat, vertical, overhead, and horizontal welding.
  • Ability to weld SMAW & FCAW, TIG is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand basic work specs, drawings, and diagrams.
  • Ability to prioritize duties and multi-task.
  • Ability to pass ABS cert on a 6G pipe with a SMAW, within 6 months.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

· Must be able to lift 80 lbs. without restriction. Position involves lifting, pulling, and operating heavy equipment and objects.

· Agility to bend, stoop, or squat, and climb high steps/ladders frequently.

· Physical dexterity and strength to operate deck machinery; work on equipment that is poorly accessible or in confined workspaces.

· Must be able to keep balance/equilibrium while performing duties at various heights.

· Ability to work in confined spaces for prolonged periods of time.

· Adequate hearing & vision ability.

· Proper heat/cold tolerance, working in all weather conditions.

· Comfortable working while exposed to grease, dirt, paint, water, etc.

· Must be able to swim.
